How it works

Radiofrequency, through an eye-specific tip.

Monopolar radiofrequency heats the dermis while cooling protects the skin surface. The eye area uses its own tip, separate from the face tip, and settings are adjusted during the session.

Energy is delivered through a treatment tip placed on the skin and heats the dermis, the collagen-rich layer beneath the surface.

Eye-specific tip

The skin around the eyes is thin, so the larger face tip is not used there. The eye tip covers the upper eyelids and the area beneath the eyes.

Cooling and comfort

Cooling protects the skin surface and vibration eases discomfort. Settings are adjusted to your skin and tolerance as you go.

Change over months

Heated collagen remodels after the appointment, so the result develops over 2–6 months rather than on the day.

Who it suits

Mild laxity and fine lines around the eyes.

Thermage FLX Eyes is designed for early hooding of the upper eyelids, crepey texture beneath the eyes and fine lines at the outer corners. Significant excess skin is a surgical question, and your practitioner assesses it at consultation.

Not suitable

Anyone with a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator or other implanted electrical device must not have Thermage. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, active skin infection and autoimmune conditions need review first.

Results

Collagen remodelling develops over 2–6 months. Results are typically maintained for one to two years, and maintenance is considered after that.
