Until 31 October 2026, Fotona 4D is $519 for a one-time new-client trial session, or $440 per session when you buy a 5-session course upfront. The cost of Fotona 4D depends on the modes included, whether we treat the face or the face and neck, and whether you book one session or a course. Your quote should say whether SmoothLiftin, FRAC3, PIANO and the SupErficial peel are included. Adding TightSculpting, SmoothEye, VectorLift or stronger resurfacing changes the scope and the cost. We give you a breakdown at your complimentary consultation, and we don't take a deposit.

Fotona 4D is a non-surgical laser treatment for skin tightening and texture. It combines Er:YAG and Nd:YAG lasers in four modes, SmoothLiftin, FRAC3, PIANO and SupErficial, working from inside the mouth to the skin surface. We run it on a Fotona SP Dynamis, typically as a course of 3 to 5 sessions about a month apart.

What does it cost to add TightSculpting, SmoothEye or VectorLift?

It depends on the added protocol, the treatment area and the number of sessions. We confirm which additions suit your concerns, then quote a single session or a course.

What are the four modes in Fotona 4D?

SmoothLiftin, FRAC3, PIANO and SupErficial. They use Er:YAG and Nd:YAG energy for intraoral treatment, deeper skin concerns, bulk heating and a light surface peel, in that order. Your practitioner assesses whether each mode suits you.

Which areas are included in Fotona 4D?

The face alone, or the face and neck, as we agree at consultation. SmoothEye for the eye area and TightSculpting are separate additions, and we don't assume them as part of standard 4D. Your quote names the areas and protocols included.

What is Fotona SmoothEye, and can it treat eye wrinkles and crow's feet?

SmoothEye is a separate Er:YAG protocol for eye-area wrinkles, crow's feet and skin laxity. You can add it to a Fotona 4D session. We assess the eye area before recommending it.

What is Fotona TightSculpting for the face?

TightSculpting is an additional laser protocol for fat-related contour concerns and skin tightening. We combine it with Fotona 4D for the neck, jawline and chin. It is separate from the four standard modes, so we assess suitability, area and cost on their own.

Can Fotona 4D help with nasolabial folds and smile lines?

The SmoothLiftin step is aimed at them. It applies Er:YAG energy to tissue inside the mouth for lower-face concerns. Your practitioner assesses whether this step suits your skin and the change you want.

Can Fotona laser treat acne scars?

Fotona surface treatments target texture concerns, including acne scars. Whether the light SupErficial step or added fractional resurfacing is appropriate depends on your scarring and your skin. Raise acne and acne scars separately so the plan addresses your main concern.

What changes should I expect before and after Fotona 4D?

You may see some early change, and the fuller effect develops over about 2 to 3 months. How much tightening and texture change you get varies. At consultation we talk through your starting skin condition and what would be realistic for you.

How long do Fotona 4D results last?

Fotona 4D results last around 6 to 12 months after a course, with individual variation. Age, skin condition and lifestyle affect how long they last. We discuss maintenance at 6 to 12 months, and not everyone needs it.

What age is best for Fotona 4D treatment?

There is no best age. Suitability depends on your skin and your concerns. Your practitioner assesses laxity, texture and your goals alongside your health history.

Is this treatment safe?

Fotona 4D uses a TGA/FDA-cleared system, and a practitioner assesses your suitability before treatment. The assessment covers your skin, health history, medicines and contraindications, including pregnancy, breastfeeding and active infections in the treatment area. Your practitioner explains the risks and recovery for the modes we select.

Who should not have Fotona 4D?

Fotona 4D is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with active skin infections or cold sores in the treatment area. Some photosensitising medicines, a history of keloid scarring and other medical conditions can also affect suitability. Your practitioner reviews your history and tells you if treatment should wait or a mode is unsuitable.

Is a Fotona face lift the same as surgery?

No. A Fotona face lift means non-surgical laser skin tightening. SmoothLiftin treats tissue inside the mouth and the other three modes treat the skin of the face. We assess whether your concerns suit this approach.

What is the difference between Fotona 4D and Thermage?

Fotona 4D uses laser energy. Thermage uses radiofrequency energy for skin tightening. Fotona includes an intraoral step and a surface peel option. At consultation we compare the scope and recovery of each with your skin concerns.

Can I combine Fotona 4D with other treatments?

Sometimes. We need to assess the proposed treatments and your skin first. Tell your practitioner about recent treatments and any you have planned, and they will confirm suitable combinations, timing and recovery.

Fotona 4D feels warm, and comfort varies by person and by mode. SmoothLiftin treats inside the mouth, FRAC3 applies non-ablative energy, PIANO warms the treatment area and SupErficial treats the surface. Tell your practitioner about discomfort during any step.

Is there downtime after Fotona 4D?

Downtime after Fotona 4D depends on the modes. Most people resume normal activities after the non-ablative steps. SmoothLiftin, FRAC3 and PIANO can cause warmth or temporary pinkness, and the SupErficial peel can cause mild peeling. The mechanism

How Fotona 4D works

Fotona 4D combines two laser wavelengths, Er:YAG and Nd:YAG, in four modes. Each mode works on a different layer. We start inside the mouth and finish at the skin surface.

The laser energy stimulates collagen at several depths, so firmness and texture change gradually. Nothing is cut and nothing is injected.

Your practitioner checks that each mode suits your skin before including it. Not every plan uses all four.

Thermage FLX uses monopolar radiofrequency, with one treatment as the standard plan. Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound with real-time imaging, and we plan it around lift. We plan Fotona 4D around tightening and texture, over a course of sessions.

The four modes, in order

SmoothLiftin
Er:YAG energy applied inside the mouth, for lower-face and smile-line concerns. You may feel warmth inside the mouth.
FRAC3
Non-ablative Nd:YAG energy aimed at deeper skin imperfections. You may feel warmth and see temporary pinkness.
PIANO
Nd:YAG energy delivered with a brushing motion to heat tissue for skin tightening. Expect warmth across the treated area.
SupErficial

A typical course is 3 to 5 sessions, about a month apart. We adjust the number and spacing to your skin, the modes we use and how you respond.

Fotona 4D treats the whole face. Where one area needs more, we combine it with a second protocol in the same plan. That is TightSculpting for the neck, jawline and chin, SmoothEye or VectorLift for the eye area, and a stronger resurfacing setting for texture.

Your quote lists the modes, areas and sessions included. TightSculpting, SmoothEye, VectorLift and stronger resurfacing are separate additions, and we don't assume them as part of 4D.

What to expect, from the first session to the months after

On the day
A basic session takes about 30 to 45 minutes. You feel warmth in each mode. Most people go back to normal activities after the non-ablative steps.
The first few days
You may have warmth or temporary pinkness. If your plan includes the SupErficial peel, expect mild peeling. We explain aftercare for the modes we used.
Two to three months
Some change can show early. The fuller effect develops gradually over about two to three months.
Six to twelve months
Results may last around 6 to 12 months after a course. That is when we talk about maintenance, and not everyone needs it.
