Your biology,
carefully prepared
PRP concentrates platelets from a small sample of your own blood, then places the prepared plasma where hair is thinning.
Platelets contain signalling proteins involved in tissue repair and cellular activity. When PRP is introduced into targeted areas of the scalp, the aim is to support the environment around viable follicles and encourage healthier hair-cycle activity. It does not create new follicles, and it is not a substitute for diagnosing the cause of hair loss.
That is why every treatment plan begins with a conversation and scalp assessment. If PRP is unlikely to suit your pattern or stage of hair loss, our practitioners will explain that clearly and discuss appropriate next steps.
PRP for women and men
Hair loss rarely looks the same from one person to the next. The language may differ—widening part, shedding, receding hairline, crown thinning—but the first question is always the same: are active follicles still present to support?
W
Women’s hair thinning
Women often notice a wider part, less volume through the crown, or diffuse shedding rather than a distinct bald patch. Hormonal changes, stress, nutrition, illness, medication, and genetic pattern hair loss can all play a role. Assessment helps distinguish a suitable PRP case from hair loss that should be investigated elsewhere first.
M
Men’s hair thinning
Men commonly present with recession at the temples, a changing hairline, or reduced density at the crown. PRP may be considered while follicles remain active, particularly in earlier stages. Long-standing smooth bald areas are less likely to respond to a follicle-supporting treatment.
A course, not a quick fix
The package includes five treatment sessions. Appointment spacing and any later maintenance recommendations are confirmed after assessment.
What happens at a PRP hair appointment
A measured process gives your practitioner time to assess, prepare, treat, and review—without treating hair loss as a one-size-fits-all concern.
Assess
We begin with the pattern, timing, and progression of your hair loss, as well as relevant health and lifestyle factors. If the cause needs further investigation, treatment may be deferred or another pathway recommended.
Prepare
A small blood sample is collected and placed in a centrifuge. This separates the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components so it can be prepared for targeted scalp treatment.
Treat
The prepared PRP is introduced into areas of thinning using fine, precisely placed injections. Your practitioner works to the agreed treatment map and explains aftercare before you leave.
Review
Progress is assessed over time rather than after one appointment. Consistent photography and planned reviews help determine whether your course or maintenance schedule should be adjusted.
Hair loss deserves more than a standard protocol. Our experienced practitioners assess the whole pattern, explain what PRP can—and cannot—reasonably address, and tailor each treatment map to the individual in the chair.

Personal Assessment
Who may consider PRP for hair loss?
PRP is generally discussed for early to moderate thinning, while follicles are still present. It is not suitable for everyone, and sudden, patchy, unexplained, or medically complex hair loss may need investigation before cosmetic treatment is considered.
A widening part or reduced density through the top of the scalp
Early crown thinning or a gradually receding hairline
Male or female pattern hair loss with active follicles
Diffuse thinning after an appropriate assessment of possible causes
People seeking a non-surgical treatment using their own plasma
Those comfortable with a course of treatment and gradual change
Change follows the hair cycle
PRP hair restoration is gradual. The aim is to support existing follicles—not manufacture an overnight result.
Early changes may include a shift in shedding or the feel and quality of existing hair. Visible density is assessed over months, with response influenced by the cause and stage of hair loss, age, health, genetics, and consistency with the recommended course. Maintenance may be discussed if you respond well.
After treatment, temporary scalp sensitivity, redness, swelling, bruising, or pinpoint bleeding can occur. You will receive aftercare matched to your treatment, including when to wash your hair and return to strenuous exercise.
Individual results, treatment plans, and recovery vary. PRP cannot restore follicles that are no longer viable, and no specific level of regrowth can be guaranteed.
What has been studied?
PRP has been investigated in randomised trials involving men and women with androgenetic or pattern hair loss. These studies provide useful evidence, but they are generally small and use different preparation methods, treatment schedules, and outcome measures.
The studies below do not evaluate 99 Medispa’s specific five-session package and should not be read as a guarantee of individual results.
